6 cups water
1 teaspoon salt3 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup minced onion
2 tablespoons flour2 eggs slightly beaten
1/4 cup milk
2/3 cup flourCook caraway seet in salted water for 20-30 minutes. Strain, reserving

tablespoons of flour and brown lightly. Remove from heat and slowly add
1 cup broth to the flour mixture (zaprashka). Bring to boil, stirring
to prevent lumps and return to kettle of broth. Simmer.Beat eggs, second portion of flour and milk together. Should be a

Serving Ideas : Al says toasted French bread is good with this. Dunno.NOTES : Made half a recipe on 3/9/01 as a trial run for the Scarborough
dinner on 3/16. I'd forgotten how good this is. Browned the onion very
slowly -- don't hurry it. Wound up pouring all the broth into the
skillet -- small enough quantity enabled it.Am thinking that for 12 servings, I'll triple most of the recipe, but
not the batter -- maybe double only. Don't want it too thick._____
