Reminds me of my friends Ducati which was the first four valve Ducati in Western Australia to be "dropped". One of Herb Watsons mechanics thought he'd tootle down to the post office in Vic Park but learnt about the Dukes wide turning circle when he "fell" into a U turn.
He got the sack for it. -

when was that?I think i have heard that story around the old perth traps.

That hapened to a local lawyer with the letter Q in his name, on a freshly made Duke on a road test a few weeks ago, a little to much squeeze on the front brake arrond a round about in osbourne park, ended up kissing the bitumin.

Would have been the mid eighties, the mechanics name was Dave, a tall lean guy who had a 6oo Pantah bored out to 850cc. Used to do quite well at Waneroo with it.
The dropped bike was one of the first three 851's brought into WA. It was owned by Clive Milne. -

There wasn't any bike stuff left but all the books went to the salvos. In that last week before moving out it was all about getting stuff off the property NOW!You never realise how much junk you have until you have to move it.....
