  1. Recently, I have experienced sore pressure points and a burning
sensation when walking.(almost as if I was walking on the ground
without shoes). I haven't been walking for any longer periods than I
usually do. I am wearing good quality socks and Conformable Wind
insoles recommended by a footwear retailer as my doctor thought I had a
slight over pronation problem. I am getting callouses and sore points
approaching blisters which I treat with compeed. Anyone experienced
anything similar and able to offer advice? Should I be trying to
toughen up my feet with any products?

Sounds like hotspots. You can toughen your feet up with repeated
applications of sugical spirit. Also, consider putting some zinc oxide
tape (available from Boots) or similar over the problem areas. Works for
    me.

Just walk 'round in bare feet most of the time. They'll soon
toughen up. We wear shoes far too much.

  4. The roads around here are a bit rough for walking with bare feet. :O)

Appologies. I wasn't accurate enough with my reply. I never wear
any footware in the house, including socks. I mostly also walk
around the garden in bare feet. Whether this has any effect on how
tough my feet are is up for debate but I never get blisters when
walking. My wife, who walks just as much as I do, tends to wear
socks and slippers in the house and never goes outside in bare feet
and duly suffers from blisters when she is walking. I humbly
    submit my evidence.

  7. Interesting. I'm not into the slippers myself.

I think my problem is something a bit more serious. I have decided to
get an opinion from a podiatrist. I am wondering if my footwear is
possibly to blame. It tends to feel too tight, but I have difficulty
in getting wide enough boots/shoes for my feet. I will post if I get
    things resolved.
