Hi, I am changing my groupset and wondered if it is possible to keep my Sora shifters with a 105 groupset? Thanks for any advice.

Only if they are the same number of speeds, 9=9 etc...
-
Only if you keep an 8spd cassette and an 8spd chain.
-
Thanks, new shifters it is then.

You are talking about the old 8spd Sora, I guess? Latest Sora shifters are 9spd and could be used with 105. Sorry if I've lead you astray.

No.
You could use them with any 9 speed Shimano group though.
EDIT: There may be a shiftmate option to allow you to use 9 speed shifters with a 10 speed cassette, but the question then would be "Why?" since you would have to pick whether to use the upper 9 or lower 9.
🙂
Another Edit...
You can maybe use 105 components for everything, but stick with a 9 speed cassette and your Sora shifters, but again, the question, "Why?" remains...

You could use your 9spd Sora shifters with all components of a 10spd 105 groupset except the chain and cassette. 105/Ultegra/DuraAce 9spd chain and cassette are readily available.
The shifters dictate the number of gears. If you want 10spd, then you need the latest 105, Ultegra or DuraAce shifters (or else Campag or SRAM). Chain and cassette must then be matched to the number of gears of the shifter.
Why do you want to keep the shifters? -

Why do you want to keep the shifters? The only reason I wanted to keep the shifters was so the wife did n't miss £120 out of the bank account this month! :o I have ordered every thing else, she won't notice the difference, I hope I will.😄
