  1. Hi all,

I've done nearly all of my running since the beginning of the year on trails wearing Adidas Trail
shoes. No problems there. In the last 10 days I hit the roads again for about 26 miles or so (over 3
runs) wearing Asics Kayanos. Over the 3 runs I developed a pain on the outside of my left foot. It's
with me constantly when I walk, but not really noticable when I run. It started at the outside of
the arch but is now more noticeable nearer the heel. Anyone experience this before? What are the
options? Shoes shot? Real genuine injury or passing nuisance? The only other new factor in my
running, aside from hitting the roads again, has been an improvement in pace. Any advice
    appreciated.

You don't say what shoe you normally run the roads in, therefore how is one to help with your
    problem. Don't run roads?

  3. Sorry. I should have been more specific. I have always done my road running on Asics Kayanos, about
250-300 miles on my current pair. I got 600 miles out of the pair before that. And not running roads
isn't an ideal solution. I'll be running races on them, so I need to train a little on them.

  6. I always do a good calf stretch, mostly do a good quad stretch, and I'm most lax about stretching my
hamstrings. But I only ever stretch after a run, unless I'm doing hills or speed when I'll stretch
after a warmup as well. I hope it's not the beginnings of plantar fascitis, but I suppose I'd better
treat it as if it is. I'll go google. Thanks,
