...and sometimes it pours. Literally.
I have at least 5" of water all throughout my yard right
now. My garage is flooded. I have water seeping into the
basement (not unusual, happens every year), water coming in
a window well that's never filled up before, 4 pumps ready
for pumping water out except...
- one is stationed permanently under the deck and thankfully
is working fine
- one is working overtime in the yard pumping its
little heart out
- one is being persnickity and sometimes works, sometimes
doesn't. It'll work but not for too long. That one is in
the window well so it won't have to work all the time.
- And one works fine but has mutated and lost it's little
connector bit for the hose. I have at least a dozen other
connectors and none of the fit it. So I have the hose, and
the pump, and ne'er the two shall meet. Even (gasp) duct
tape didn't work to keep them together.
I ran out to the hardware stores, which all closed at
8. It's a conspiracy I tell you. I went to Walmart
where I ran into a small hoard of men looking for
pumps, which apparently Walmart doesn't carry. So at
least it's not just me.
I've been trudging through water/snow/rain and bending and
hauling stuff for almost 5 hours now. Think I've earned any
activity points?!?
