  1. Bob,

Why do you search for things to insult people on? What do you get out of it?

Will someone else share with me why this guy must insult me for no apparent
reason? I had read his posts before today and found them interesting. Now I
am the victim of his insults, so of course I feel a little different.

I am sure he will have an insulting comment on this matter too. So far I
haven't seen him to be supportive. I just want to know the purpose.

    Thanks for your support.

    Tonya

    Possible reasons:
    1) He's pure evil.
    2) A woman named Tonya abused him horribly when he was younger and
    you're paying for her crimes.
    3) Your statements concerning blood types and diet are silly enough to

provoke someone used to dealing in fact - especially when
you persist in your opinions despite an attempt to correct them.

Question: Why is Bob "interesting" until he calls you to task for
    things you've posted?

    Curious,

I dont see my opinions as being silly. They are just opinions. And I dont
think I was persistant. I felt he was persistant in trying to fight with me.
I admitted I was ignorant in this stuff, just that it made sense to me.

Question: Why is Bob "interesting" until he calls you to task for

He seems very inteligent. Rude, but inteligent. Some of his points are
interresting. "Calling me task" would be catching me in a lie or proving I
am wrong about something, what he did just frlt like he was attacking. You
can make someone realise they are wrong without the insults. He does not
need to claim I am not smart, he does not need to make fun of me. It's like
he is still in elementary school. There is no need for that, at that point,
I admitted I was wrong. Why continue to insult and make fun?

I really thought the people on this board were nice. But I see the majority
just poke and prod at people.

    Thanks for the reply.

  4. Perhaps he enjoys tilting at the windmills of believing that idiots can
comprehend a coherent argument, and can learn to respond in kind.

I don't know why he bothers.

Your opinion involved the defense of a particular book, and the theory
    behind it.
The book was ostensibly scientific in approach, not philosophical. In
    such a
venue opinion has no place. Facts rule the roost. Bob tried to point
    you
towards material that you could look up for yourself that would have
    lead
you to discover the "why this is wrong" for yourself. D'Adamo got
    some very
basic things wrong - upon which he then proceeds to construct his
    house of cards.
Heck, even his version of human history would garner him a rotten
    grade in most
    freshman courses.

Bob started out calmly telling you that D'Adamo was wrong. The
    insults started
only after you persisted in championing your "opinion". Look back at
    the thread in
question. You never admitted you were wrong. You claimed it was your
    "opinion"
and said that in general people decide who to listen to when
    considering an issue
    with conflicting viewpoints.

That's not the way things are, Tonya. People who challenge incorrect
    information
aren't just being mean. If you want nothing but unchallenged (and
    unchallenging usually)
conversation there are plenty of venues for that all over the 'net.
    Usenet isn't one of them.
If you want to learn and are ready to risk having some of your
    misconceptions
about low carb smashed then this is a good place to do it. Support
    isn't always
    fuzzy slippers, kittens and rainbows.

    take care,

Yeah, but it's a lot worse on usenet because most people won't tell you

You persist in believing that your opinion without support has

    You're wrong.

The countering information to that ridiculous diet you're championing

<LOL> It's utterly invalid but it makes sense. Good thinking.

Free speech is a wonderful thing. It lets us meet online and exchange
    views. What a wonderful technology.

No apologies necessary. Your words make it all very clear. It's not so
much that you don't know how to argue, it's that you don't know how to
investigate or research before having opinions. ANd once having the
information handed to you, you don't know how to say ooops.

I suppose Tonya should learn to argue like you Bob, where once someone
sites an irrefutable source to prove you incorrect, you then resort to
calling them a [censored], like you did with me another thread. She's
right, you have no manners and a very fragile ego.

I suppose Tonya should learn to argue like you Bob,

Actually, it isn't about arguing at all, just as it hasn't been about
that with you in "another thread" you mention. I said to Tonya above:

    where once

You mean like when I cited *why* the blood type diet made no sense...?

Or are you trying to wiggle out from under need to say Ooops. your
assertion that curdling cheese happened *only* because of bacterial
infusion? Or that all cheeses are made from fermented milk? Your
"irrefutable source" about cheese didn't quite agree with your
pronouncements, and I'm sorry since it's apparently such an urgent
thing that you be *absolutely* correct. I'm desolated at having
    thwarted that, however inadvertently.

    another thread.

<LOL> <trumpet fanfare> Chet Hayes has come to explain the nuances of
etiquette, demonstrate his limited literacy and take another shot.
Poor Chet thinks that when I said that he had asked "a [censored]
question" that somehow it said that he was a [censored]. Well, Chet,
unfortunately, while I didn't call you a [censored], you're certainly
acting like one. I think the committee will be handing down a decision
on that question later today. It doesn't look good for you.

<LOL> Not only a cheesy cheesemaker, but a cheesy psychologist, too.
