At least the sidi's were't clipped to the pedals in transition. Can you imagine trying to slip in and do your straps up when the shoes are attached to a fixie?

At a sprint tri at Raby Bay last year there was a chopper racked in the clydesdale's rack. Pretty sure it had a freehub though. I heard that the guy that rode it only had one hand on the bars for the whole 15km ride. The other hand was busy waving and giving the "peace" sign to the cheering crowd.

It'd be ok if the course was pretty flat. Didn't a professional rider use a
fixie on one stage of a road race a couple of months ago?

If you are going to ride a fixie amongst geared coasters, a tri bike leg is actually a good place to do it. No bunching or tactics.
Anyone now inspired to ride fixed in a tri relay?

The guy (Paul Vincent?) on the C+ Mag staff uses a fixie for his club 10+25TTs all the time as do many apparently. And if you watch tr-hard-letes you notice they certainly like to mash a big gear

Oh, and Yes. It was Stuey Ogrady used a fixie for the prologue in a big race earlier this year(?) which was only about 1.1km long
