Hi,
Quoted message said:you can have diet soda from the beginning if it doesn't give you cravings.
Try soda with splenda insstead of aspertame. Pretty sure you can have tea,

w/caffiene. Drink seltzer, either flavored, plain or with a slice of lemon
or lime.
Did you read the book?
I read the book and the anti-aspartame sentiments throughout were kind of
confusing. He has try not to have anything with aspartame in it because
some studies have shown it to be bad for you, and that splenda is based on
real sugar and had a 100 trials done before the FDA allowed it. This isn't
really all that convincing to me. While I thought Atikins' book (in
particular the "New Diet Revolution" one) was really well written, and cited
some strong evidence for LCing, his evidence condeming aspartame was non
existent.
Anyways, I was going to start this little rant suggesting that you would be
hard pressed to find a splenda soft drink out there in the main stream, but
[http://www.pbs.org/wsw/news/fortunearticle_20031229_04.html] lists a couple
if you are interested:
Diet RC cola, Starbucks Lite Frappuccino, a light version of Coca-Cola's
Powerade, Ocean Spray Light, Diet V8 Splash, Light Hawaiian Punch, Blue
Bunny ice cream, and Swiss Miss hot cocoa mix.
And supposedly diet coke in Japan. I have a feeling that most of the above
are "low carb" though, and not zero carb like diet coke etc. I personally
found that diet coke and crystal light were both nice.

jello,
The jello is great, but don't go crazy the first couple of weeks because you
won't want to ever eat it again then. Cream cheese spreads with cauliflower
and celery/bok choy work well too.

Always keeping a few boiled eggs in the fridge was a trick I found handy --
same advice as the jello though 🙂

atkins bar myself
I highly recommend them as well. The Atkin Advantage bar (esp peanut
butter) is great. At 2 net carbs it fits well, and it is dry enough that
you'll be kicking down some fluids at the same time adding to filling you
up. Watch the Atikins endulge bars though, they are a nice change (taste
like a kit kat) but 4 carbs and smaller than the advntage bar...
