I rode Flag-Bear-Deadman's with a fun (and fast!) group on Saturday. It was a fun uneventful ride and the day was perfect and beautiful. Trying to hang with these guys took it out of me on a couple of climbs but I hung on as best I could. Not much time to make a RR at the moment, but here's some photos (with some other unrelated shots at the beginning and end - you can ignore those):

You trying to hang? What, were you riding with Superman and his relatives or something?

Pretty much. The group of four on the road climb were the lead group. They are: a pro Norba racer with some significant wins under his belt who's more into adventure racing these days (but still getting paid to ride a lot), another Norba pro with a lot of top 5 finishes in significant races who just got back from a few months of pro road racing in Spain, another adventure racer who was a Norba expert racer and training buddy of the first two, and finally a guy who drives one of those all yellow Mavic cars with all the bikes and wheels in big races (he going to Le Tour soon) - so he's not a pro rider, but he gets out more than I do and rides with a lot of fast people. So while I'm dying to just keep them in view, they are telling jokes, riding wheelies, and flicking rocks at each other with their front wheels. I was the weekend warrior of that group and it was painfully obvious. I had to snap those two photos to prove I was actually ahead of them at some point, even though they let me pass. Those are my excuses and I'm sticking to them!

Yeah, no [censored]. If Matt's just hanging on (which I don't believe), then I'd've waved 'em on after about 14 feet.
and I'm trying to set up a ride with Matt....masochist that I am. Maybe he'll have a cold again like the last time I rode with him....crossing fingers.

G-Spot is filled with very fast riders and Matt seems to know all of the most maniacal.
