You're welcome. I love its simplicity because I'm not as techy-
minded as I'd like to be. Your photos are great Theo - some of
them almost look like watercolours, which is an effect I like
although I wouldn't be able to say why.

I did it in Photoshop Elements2 for the W*W and saved them as .png and
printed them out. You can see an example here, it is in .jpg to keep it
small and fast 🙂

Just registered it on their site. They say they'll email my code in 2-3

Not necessarily. A Photoshop competitor once claimed to offer superior
product and charged a superior price, around £850 IIRC. One year later
I got it free on a coverdisk. Never used it. Took a quick look then
immediately unistalled it.

I'm always suspicious of expensive software that you get free on
coverdisks. Of course it's a promotion to push the next version on
which you can "save" £200 by spending £150 (not inc VAT). But how much
longer before you get the next version free?

Looks overly simple to me. You can't specify stitch points. Not easy
(or possible) to adjust pitch or roll. The demo version won't even
render it for me so I can't see what the result looks like. By making
it so easy to use you have less control over it.

I admit I haven't looked at it deeply but my first impression is not
good. I'd rather use Canon's stitching program. Panavue is way better.

If they were very regularly cut with an exact number of pixels on
each side, ImageMagick would do a very good job.

I prefer the colour, because of the colour of the stone. The b&w image
has some obvious halo effects around the top of the castle.

I shall have to try this PTAssembler. The joins are perfect are they?
I rather fancy creating some very high res images now that I have extra
flash memory.

Just added 7 Lakedistrict pics, including a 360 degrees view from Great
Gable. For the PS or PTA specialists among us : For stitching I use ArcSoft
Photostudio 5, a free program. The pics were made with a Olympus Mju on 35mm
film, scanned into the computer on a Canon Lide20. Images were cut for
composition, some stitched, some color was enhanced and I even 'made up' a
screeslope on Great Gable. In the future I'll add pictures from the WHW,
Skye, Aonach Eagach, Torridon etc.

Hop you'll enjoy them.

Like the pano theo, nice touch with the small group of walkers that
are visible but not obtrusive... bet you were hoping they weren't
going to race into your frame before you completed the shot !

They turned out to be the first of a group of 14. I was glad I didn't get
them all in my picture, it would make it less exclusive.
I've seen some pics on the web taken on Remembrance Day. Just crowds, no
mountain in sight :-(

I bought a Nikon Coolpix 2100 last year on my way to Scotland and it comes
with a program called panorama maker. it`s excellent because not only does
it stitch the photos together, you can also create a QuickTime VR movie
which allows you to stitch 360 deg photos together and rotate around in the
photo to get a view of the surrounding area. It also allows you to tile the
photos so you can make a larger photo from several ones
