  1. HI folks. I've been in and out of this newsgroup for the past few years.
This past Monday, I decided to start induction again.....going well so far.

Today at lunch, my jaw popped out of place and it took some work to get it
back where it was supposed to be.
I am on a soft food diet until I go back to the dentist on Monday. I need
ideas for soft foods over and above the obvious ones on the acceptable food
list. I am willing to go into OWL and then back into induction next week if
    necessary.

    Help !! and TIA.

Yogurt, tofu, cream soups (asparagus is still in season here - and that's
a good way to get your veggies in, which can be harder on a soft diet).

    Good luck,

Blender, food processor, grinding attachment on the food
    processor.

Think of it as a way to get extra veggies. Cold fresh
raw veggies reduced to mush have very good flavor no
    matter that they lack texture.

Cheese. Shred it. Food processor to the rescue again.

Cooking. Low carb veggies turn quickly to mush. It
ruins their flavor and their crunch but right now that's
    your goal not an obstacle.

Combine the two above to make one of the common recipes
that is used in place of mashed potato. Cook cauliflower
until soft. Mash. Add shredded cheese and have it melt.
The result is "fauxtatoes". Real natural core low carb
food that isn't what is often meant by "substitute".

Agree completely. You might also make some neat soups from
stews: create a quick stew from finely diced beef, lamb, pork or
chicken, add a good amount of herbs, broth and maybe a carrot
and some onion, garlic or shallot...cook until the meat is quite soft
and tender, then simply throw it all into the blender or food processor.
You should be able to get maximum flavor for very few carbs.

And if you want relatively fast food that is both soft and low carb,
mash up some ripe avocados, with the seasoning of your choice (lemon
juice and a dash of Tabasco would be nice, for instance).

Gadget freak tries to figure out how to get a rotisserie
to make soft food. Hmm, no luck. Buy one anyways. Your
need for soft food won't last! ;^)

Gadgety ways to make food soft -

Crockpot. Put stuff in frozen in the morning. Get home
from work and will be soft enough for fall apart on your
fork. Soft enough for dental problems? Not sure. Any
veggie including roots not yet available during Induction
    will be soft.

Pressure cooker. Harnessing fire is fun, harnessing live
steam in a metal container puts fun to shame. It is easy
to make food soft in a pressure cooker. Usual safety
    guidelines about cooling before opening.
