Hi there,
mainly a lurker, me, but a cyclist (of sorts) nonetheless.
After a brilliant day out today, not that far, maybe, but far enough
for us, a tandem pootle around Wisborough Green, Hawkhurst Court, and
a quiet lunch at the pub in Loxwood.
I don't know who was getting married, lots of kilts and not a Jock
accent in sight, but I thought seeing a tandem at a wedding (by the
proud couple) was supposed to signify luck?
Having been told to get a move on by the padre, collecting flowers
from a van (Hell of a big van for one bunch of flowers!), that's
something he obviously hasn't come across.
Anyway, part of the discussion around the trip involved selling the
veteran tandem, so had a look on eBay for tandems when I came home.
Shocked, I was. Ten quid, reserve not met? A Bob Jackson for £190?
Fixed wheel track tandem for £29.99? Unidentified ladyback single
speed for £40? Is someone having a laugh, or am I stupider than I
realised?
I might as well throw mine on the skip, Resilion cantilevers, Cyclo
gears and all (hard to get the spares, y'see). It'd cost less than the
eBay percentages and delivery charges ...
Any suggestions as to the best place to sell would be welcome.
