The prices shown are not a good indicator of what they sell for. Prices
tend to jump in the last few minutes of the listing. If you want to
know what prices are like, put them on your watch list and return to
them after the auction has ended.

Not too hard... depending what spares you need. Resilion blocks can be
a bit troublesome to find but they're quite narrow so carving bigger
ones to size is do-able. 3-speed sprocket clusters that work with Cyclo
derailleurs are a smidgen under 10 Euros at Auchan.

What is it, and how old? With Resilions & a Cyclo it could be pre- or
post-war. The small ads in the Veteran-Cycle Club's "News & Views"
could be a good place. There are quite a few tandems advertised in the
CTC's magazine too, but these are usually a tad more modern.

I bought a decent tandem at a local auction a couple of years ago. It's
an E Stephens 'Special': 531 frame, BH Super Tandem front hub brake, S-A
AB + Resilion at the back, Williams chainsets, B17 saddles, dates from
1950 - That cost me just over £100 which I thought was a bit of a bargain.

You might find that the sellers say local pickup only, so 99% of the buyers
aren't interested. Would probably be worth your while seeing if you could
send it by courier. A realistic (i.e. as low as you can stand :-) reserve
could be a good idea to stop you getting shafted in the auction.

Advertising in specialist wossnames is a good plan too.

Hi Tim, thanks for the info. Unfortunately, I've already agreed to a
horsey trip on that date, so won't make that, but we plan on coming
out on a run with you guys in the next couple of months.
