This was the twin 40mm Bofors Hazemeyer mounting, dating from 1940. It was one of the first
mountings (possibly the first) to track a target automatically and open fire automatically when the
target was in range. This would minimise your workload and the 40mm shells would blast any motorist
who went onto the roundabout to kingdom come. It was stabilised in three axes, taking care of any
camber on the roundabout.

Disadvantages include the weight. The electrical load would also be rather too high for a dynamo or
any battery you could carry on the bike. Spare parts for the guns would not be a problem, but spare
parts for the control system would be very difficult to find.

Wouldn't a cycle helmet linked minigun with handlebar fire control do just as well? Where you look,
you shoot! Depending on the mount, you'd have to go recoilless or at least use light ammo *,
otherwise you could end up causing an accident instead of removing a potential one. 2-300 rounds
thru the engine block should stop even the most ornery bull-bar wearing 4X4.

* Do *not* use depleted uranium. Some people twenty cars behind your target may take offence to
having their vehicle perforated for no apparent reason.
