Quoted message said:Our fabulous fun and frivolous dinner club, with a new country every
month, chose New Zealand. My job is to bring the appetizers. Well--
there isn't much available from my normal sources about New Zealand
food. The dinner is Saturday and I have been away on the mainland and
am feeling a bit desperate as it is Wednesday before🙂. Does anyone
have a suggestion of where I can go? Thanking you so much in advance
for any help.

I am just thinking what I have been offered off late:
(these are unique items, not all together)
a beer
cheese board with sesame crackers
cheese board with rice crackers
a bowl of marinated mussels
potato chips with various dips (guacamole, tahine, hummus)
a glass of wine
a blank look
generic NZ cooking is not really BIG on appetizers in my personal experience.
(sometimes I cannot help thinking 'culinary wasteland'; yet not for want of
fine foods).
