Even cork gets slippery from sweat (as I found out the other day when I forgot my gloves)

"Cork" tape today is synthetic stuff just like the Profile. At most, there are bits of cork flecked
about in the man-made stuff.

If OP wants non-slippery, try either cloth tape or slit an old inner tube and try that!

pearl izumi markets a glove/tape combo called 'greptile'. the concept is essentially velcro...a
slight mechanical bond between the glove and the tape. now i've not used it, but it certainly sounds
like a non-slippery and sweat-indifferent solution.

My bars are "wrapped" in leather (Laced on actually, like a fine sports car steering wheel). I've
had this set for 7 years now. They never get clammy, stay cool in summer, warm in winter, and look
better the older they get.

Haven't used tape in decades. :-3)
