Slick(ish) 26" tyres

Schwalbe marathon I've got on my Thorn Nomad and they roll well on
road, and I just about get by off road, few punctures even on
ridiculous cobbled tracks
Very slight tread, but nearly smooth. Presumably they're regarded as
pretty good else Thorn wouldn't fit them as standard on quite a pricey
bike.
That said, it's an extensive survey of just one model of tyre, but
there you go

Wooooof 800g each?! I've not weighed them but I reckon thats as heavy
as the mud downhill tyres I use on my full sus - otherwise look nice.
Fairly cheap too.

These look nice, what width do you have fitted? I'm wary of going
large width (>1.5) but does it make much difference?

Not sure haw much these weigh, but I have Conti sport contacts on my
commuter & Conti gatorskins on my road/tourer. The contact sports come
with a 1yr puncture guarantee if bought with their inner tube. I had a
puncture after having them for 6 weeks and I had 2 new sets of tyres &
tubes sent to me. These have lasted well over a year of daily use 12m
round trip on Edinburgh's finest pot holes. The gatorskins I have not
had as long, but they lasted an endurance ride going inadvertently
off-road several times and speeding downhill on what was one of the
roughest surfaces I have ridden in the dark. Which reminds me, I should
post my ride report.

Found some of the conti sports for £14.50 with free tube and the 1
year guarantee. Willing to give them a shot so its en route. Cheers!

Forgot to mention, they apparently weigh 370g. Lighter than my city
slickers I think, so thats an added bonus. If it works well I'll be
getting a front one to match so fingers crossed!
