Sleepers for Giro???

Not much of a "sleeper" but Popyvich.

I agree with Cunego. I think we may also have a resergent Tonkov, although he's helping Garzelli so may get about 5th. Pellizotti for 2005 Giro. Gilbert for 2007 Giro. It wouldn't surprise me if Rebellin hangs on to a top 10 finish this year with his current form. The last week will be hard for him I imagine.

Although he is not a sleeper since he finished third last year, Popyvich is the rider to watch. If he can stay close to Simoni on the climbs, he can take the maglia rosa in the time trials. Cunego knows that he cannot win the Giro and he will not try to. Popyvich can win the Giro, but Garzelli can't. He's already over a minute back after one stage in the mountains.
