  1. Went looking for shoes to weightlift in and I found something called "skate
shoes". Apparently the skateboarders wear them--sturdy sneaks with hard flat
nonskid soles and a slight heel. Seem like just the thing for weightlifting.
    Has anybody tried these?

I wear them in my day to day life because running shoes/basketball shoes
look ridiculous nowadays. I couldn't tell you if they're good for
    weightlifting or not though.

I've taken to wearing work boots like Red Wings which lace up past the
ankle. Lug soles look a bit strange, but they seem to work for what I do.

I lift in MA shoes. Minimal sole...almost like bearfoot. There is not much
of a heel, however, and some guys like a little heel.

Yeah, I've thought of those. I use indoor soccer shoes.

You think you look strange? I wear thigh high hooker boots for
    weightlifting.
