    SIT DOWN, SHUT UP!!

    You know who you are.

Look, I tried to bring the discussion around to your nude butt sticking
to a vinyl beanbag chair, but you didn't want to go there for some reason.

I was thrown out of a bar in New York City.

    [You'll get the references eventually.]

Not yet. It sounds like it's either an obscure lawyer joke or I should
    go watch Buckaroo Bonzai again.

I read an interesting line today that made me think of you. It was a
Jewish woman scoffing at her brother for putting on airs in Europe - he
was riding polo ponies - and she quoted some aphorisms: "If a poor man
eats a chicken then one of them was sick.

    That makes no sense whatsoever.

The chicken doesn't get eaten until either the poor man is sick and
needs chicken soup or the chicken is sick and likely to die anyway.

If a Jew rides a horse then
one of them is an ass." I don't necessarily agree with her, but it made
    me think of you.

Because of my love of horses? My jpegs of the wild mustangs? My
    postings about my riding lessons?

Riding lessons. I wasn't judging anything, I just thought of your
riding lessons. We all have peculiar aspirations.

It's worth disclosing here that my [goyish] father used to raise
thoroughbreds and I thoroughly hate horses because of the sacrifice
being "horsey people" required of our family. I also hate it because
I'm a capitalist and the thought of trying to make money off of anything
that eats and has vet bills is a laughably bad idea.

    Worked for Mike Tyson's manager.

Good point. It works for some famous horses, too. But not more most
boxers and not for most horses.

Think Ron White, redneck comedian, for this famous line/story. He is a
"drunk" comedian in that he supposedly sips whiskey and smokes while e
performs. And he has a very distinctive style and delivery.

He is quite funny. I like him. I can see this would be outside of your
usual cultural activities to include Mr White.

"How far will the plane's one remaining engine take us?"

"All the way to the scene of the crash."

Yep, that one is a classic. And his rambling, "drunk" delivery is great. He
just strings you along, then drops the punch line with a wicked smile. And
most of the stories have something to do with his life.

However, chocolate IS the "best" flavor of ice cream.

One of the local talents puts a little peppermint oil into their dark chocolate
gelato sometimes, hubba hubba. That's enough to get me to break my Eat Clean
    rule once a week.

Just requires a little thinking, is all.

A healthy poor man with a healthy chicken will keep it for the eggs. If the
chicken is too sick to lay, on its way out, kill it and eat it. If the man is
sick, killing and eating the chicken (insert childhood memories of hot chicken
soup here, mm) will make him better.

God help me! PLEASE give me the address of this place. Dark chocolate ice
cream with peppermint flavour - this is my ultimate fanatasy!!

I thought maybe you'd like to know that square-bracketing x-no-archive
is not going to work. OTOH this message will be removed by a new s3cr1t

They're still at it on the "athlete" thing.

Don't look now, but a sub-thread has morphed into "Are golfers
    athletes?"

    Quoted message said:

We need more posts on guns and dogs.

Be careful what you ask for. Somebody more careless than you or I
might be inclined to start a "are shooting sports competitors
athletes?" or "are dogs athletes?" (sub-)thread.

And, of course, should that happen, the Oz dude will naturally take
the "no" stance on either or both issues, come up with some
wild-eyed, implausible "logic" to defend his position (which will
later morph into a "I was trolling" defence), get himself all tangled
up, concede to having made a mistake, and, finally, blame it all on a
    lack of sheep.
