  1. Look like Simoni is working to not let Cunego back on the descent. Anyone
watching this live have a feel for what's going on?

The motorcycle squads interviewed the Saeco DS's, who said that Gibo
is racing "for second". Cassani and Martinello, the technical
commentators aren't buying it though. They think he's going for it.

Thanks. So the question begs--Is Simoni Hinault's Italian love child?

Cassani was thinking of Vicentini and Roche. Apparently Cassani was
    on the team that year...

Now that's interesting! If Simoni wasn't italian, he might be in some
    physical danger, a la Roche.

On the descent it was mainly about Simoni, and Popovych trying to gain
GC places on Gonchar who had led up the big climb, but lost touch over
    the top.

Popo went for it (and almost lost it a couple of times) on the descent
with Cunego on his wheel. It was obvious Cunego was a far better
descender, but he played the team man and stayed behind Popo.

    Regards!
    Stephen
