  1. I am a swim coach with 30 years of experience. During that time I work
with many coaches worldwide and put many difficult Tools and Test into
small Excel programs. They ar all donatioware and can be found on my
website www.users.skynet.be/crtp/ where you can download them. Please
choose the English link because initialy the website was created voor

These calculators look great! However, it seems the ones I'd like to get a
hold of are not available for download:

200 & 400 Predictor and the SR/Vel calculator - can you post a link for
    download of these?

They are not ready. I am still working on them, thats way there is no link
yet. You can use the goalplanner also for the 200 and 400m.

You're quicker than I am. I'm still trying to figure out how to use
    them. Is there no document?

Normally the problem is how to get the time in the cell. It goes like
this 01'23"00, put in as 012300, 28"78 als 002878. Need more info use my
email. I'm not always reading newsgroups, but always my mail.

That's good to know (thanks!), but I was thinking even more basic than
    that.

Take, for instance, your file Cruising.xls. What's it for? What
information am I hoping to get from it? What theory does it base its
    predictions on?

I see it has some blanks at the top which appear (from the picture on
your web page) to be intended for me to enter times from a series of
100's. What sort of 100's (all-out dashes or easy "cruising"😉? How
much rest should I allow between 100's?

I'm guessing that the remaining lines display a set of predicted times.

I tried entering a set of hypothetical times (all in the 1:14 - 1:15
range), and it produced some output. Yay!

Since the times predicted for swimming 100yd is slower than the times I
entered, I guess I was supposed to enter sprint times, and it was trying
to predict cruising speeds. Am I right? If so, that would be a good
thing to mention in a document.

The program predicts a wide +/- range. Why so wide? And why is the
minus side so close to the sprint times I entered, if it's supposed to
    be predicting a cruise time?

The file also mentions something called "A1" and "END1". I'm not
familiar with those terms. Could you explain them?

    Ross

BTW, Cruising.xls seems to have a couple typos. One column in the first
row of output is labeled "500 yard", where it would seem "400 yard"
would be more appropriate. And the second row did not print anything at
all under the "300 yard" column.

END1 and A1 are common coaching notation for energy systems (ICAR parameters
anyone?)...in this case, A1 and END1 refer to lower end aerobic work,
targeting perhaps 40-50% MHR...not sure as I don't use those, but I think
    I'm in the ball park.

Give me a few day's and I will put some extra info on the test sheets.
Must things that you are telling is normal for us coaches. Sometimes we
forget that other people are not coaches but just fine sporters. So during
the weekend I will work on it. I will worn people on the website wich test
will have some extra info on it.
