Should I choose a Quarq DZero DUB power meter for its accuracy and reliability?

Isn’t it amusing how we can get so caught up in the tech that we forget why we ride in the first place? If the Quarq DZero DUB is so great, why are users still debating its reliability? Are we just hoping for a miracle in our performance, or is there genuine skepticism about its real-world application? 🤔

"Accuracy and reliability are important, but let's not pretend a +/- 1.5% vs +/- 3% difference is make-or-break for most riders. What's your budget and what features matter most to you?"

You're right, the difference between +/- 1.5% and +/- 3% accuracy might not be a deal-breaker for everyone. After all, we're not training for the Tour de France here, just enjoying a leisurely ride, right?

Budget? Features? Who needs those when you can just wing it! Who needs accurate data when you can guess your wattage based on how hard you're huffing and puffing?

But hey, if you're into that whole "preparation" and "training" thing, I guess those could be useful. But where's the fun in that? Just remember, at the end of the day, it's not about the data, it's about the ride. It's not about the destination, it's about the journey. Or something like that. ;)

Seems like everyone’s all about the numbers nowadays. If you're just out for a jaunt, does it really matter if you're within that +/- 1.5% accuracy? Are we really losing sight of what riding is about? Would the DZero DUB just complicate things more than it helps? I wonder if the obsession with metrics is killing the vibe of just pedaling away. How do folks reconcile chasing watts with actually enjoying the ride?

This thread seems to be about power meters, but the discussion is already veering off-topic. To refocus, what specific aspects of power meters are you prioritizing in your upgrade decision? Are you looking for improved accuracy, ease of installation, or compatibility with existing components?

So, if the DZero DUB is all that, why are we still hearing buzz about its battery issues? Isn’t it supposed to be cutting-edge? Are we just buying into hype without real proof? How many more updates till it actually delivers? What’s the deal with all the installation headaches? Sounds like a lot of risk for a power meter, doesn’t it?
