  1. I was wondering if anyone knows if you can get my $100 new
    balance shoes resoled?

About 20 years ago, I remember seeing advertisements for
companies that would put new rubber and cushioning on your
    running shoes.

If anyone out there knows about this let me know.

    Thanks

    Mike

If they need resoling they need replacing. Unless you
like being injured, or you just want to wear them to sit
    on the sofa.

    Mike,

One of the companies was Second Sole. Rick Hurtz turned his
dad's shoe repair business into a running shoe store
    franchise.

What many people still do is get a glue gun and level out
the worn area with the glue. Sometimes is lasts for a long
time and needs rebuilding more frequently.

If it's the outside of the back of the heel that is wearing
out fast, it tells me that you overstride and are wearing
the back of the heel out way before the life expectancy of
    the whole shoe.

Some exercises to stop the overstride are to: Put the foot
    down faster

Take smaller quicker steps to diminish the foot swinging out
in front and landing on the back of the heel of the shoe.

March in place lifting only the knees and then practice
running in place only lifting the knees so that you get a
sense of landing flat footed( also called midfoot or
    ball/heel)

If you practice the running in place lifting the knees
only an inch or two, and you begin to lean from the ankle
with an erect posture (remember the lean is from the
ankle) you'll find that you're still doing the running in
place and everytime you put y our foot dow you're several
    inches ahead.

The reason shoes are rarely resoled today is because of the
variety and complexity of the sole material. When shoes had
soles that were all about the same thickness and consisted
of one grade of durameter rubber, it was easy to peal or
chemically remove the sole and replace
it. The air bags, gell, springs and so forth complicate
the reassembly of modern shoes. I used to resole many
shoes and now just do a few and parts of shoes at
that. Years ago I had a sports doctor tell me to
forget about repairing my shoe where it wears so fast
on the side and just run on it. It may be better to
just run on a pair until it feels bad without regard
    to the sole wear itself.

  5. He's right, stop being a cheap [censored]. Well, at least being a cheap
[censored] we know you don't waste your lkoot on nikes. :?)~

I agree with this. You get a certain amount of wear (unless
you have the perfect shoe for you, like I do) right off the
bat, and if this stops at a point then it's simply you
shaving off a bit of excess rubber where you don't need it.
