  1. Due to me being excessively lazy, and incompetent, does anyone know what the correct size of the
Vanilla R thats installed as stock on the Haro Extreme X3 is?

    Cheers,

  2. From what I know, it varies depending on which part of the world you buy your X3 from and what size
frame it is. My gf's U.S. 19.5 in. framed Extreme X3's shock is 7.5 in. eye to eye, has a 750x2.20
stock spring thats free length is 8.125 in. long and 2 in. dia.

FWIW, the stock spring is very stiff for her. I'm looking into getting her a 550 or so.

Thanks for that. Is it just a case of measuring it yourself? While its fitted on the bike...

I've got the UK 18 inch frame, fitted with a 600x2.25 spring, and without touching the bike the
eye-to-eye length is 7.5 inches... Does that sound about right? Fox have changed their site now with
the 2004 gear, so they don't have the range of sizes the shock used to come in..

So I guess the only thing I don't have is what size the spring is uncompressed - but will that
matter if I want to upgrade?

    Sorni, take it away...

Just unscrew the preload adjuster till there is zero tension on the spring. Then measure its
    free length.

I'm currently dealing go-ride.com in ordering the spring btw, very helpful and courteous.

I much prefer the air shock adjustability on my bike, this changing coil stuff is for the
    birds. Oh well.
