SHIRTS & SHORTS FOR SUMMER

Wallmart sells all cotton no pocket T shirts in bright colors for about $4.50 each. They wick sweat well and provide an evaporative cooling effect,and the cars seem to see me. They are my regular cycling jersey here in the inferno of Southern Arizona.

I forgot to mention that they are Fruit of the Loom brand.

Thank you so much! I can't find anything for under $20. Even at Target. I did get a couple of things there but they were not actual cycling clothes. The shorts aren't really made for speed I could actually go sailing in them if I caught a breeze. The shirts, well lets just say I don't want to be responsible for giving my neighbor another heart attack when I bend over and out pops some cleavage.:eek: My daughter also said she would have to summarily put me to death if I had one of those shirts on and rode past any of her friends parents. Let's face it though, I will require some cool cycling clothes for summer. I'm already in shorts and it's only 65-70 degrees out. Thanks again. I have a Wallmart nearby. I'll check them out next week.🙂

I will HIGHLY recommend the spandex/lyrca Reebok or Starter tops that you can get at Kohls/Walmart for anywhere from $13-$20. They wick sweat, and keep you cool, and come in a variety of bright colors. Not only that, they have some compression, and are fairly tight cut to reduce drag. Ive got about 6 of them I train in, and jerseys I wear for the ride.

I picked up 2 well cut wicking tops at Walmart today after a recommendation from another biker on the forum. They were only $6.00 each so I think I did pretty well. I'd like to check out another Walmart to see what they have also but I think I did well today. Would you happen to know where I might be able to pick up cycling (wicking) socks? They charge ten bucks for them at bike stores.

Try Target. The ones near me have a good selection of athletic socks.
