UG = uniglide, HG = hyerglide. You have a uniglide chain. I have no idea
what that means.

Uniglide works with indexed 7 speed and non-indexed cassettes might even get
it to work with 8 speed. It will not sit on a 9 speed system and will shift
poorly due to the edges not be beveled.

It's a 7 speed cogset, right? You should be able to use any 7 speed
chain, like an SRAM PC10.

So my chain is like a hyperglide chain and has to be seperated differently
that an ordinary chain

UG stands for Uniglide. Originally, UG predated Hyperglide, recently
Shimano reached pack in the bag of names and brought UG back for
Tourney level chains.

That has never been the case, although Shimano would like it that way.
Even within the Shimano line there have been several versions of
hyperglide (HG) chains, as well as Uniglide (UG) and Interglide (IG).

It helps if you ask the question that you want answered.

I would treat it like any other HyperGlide chain.

That is to say, I would throw it in the closest waste bin and install
a propper chain.

BTW any 7.1mm chain should work.

i think ug is ultra glide and isnt hg compatible because it was for a 7speed
spacing, im not sure though.
