  1. The question I bring to you today is whether or not you are a shaver or a non shaver?

Its interesting to see cyclist both on the road and on the trails that debat the issue. I have heard all sorts of reasons why people shave and why the don't.

Tell my why you shave and how you think its important to you.

In addition what got you started in shaving or why haven't you started shaving.

and sorry ladies, this happens to be a male poll, but if you would like to answer just the same you are very much welcomed.

I do regularly shaved my legs, it started out when I was a gym buff and saw that most guys do shave and oil they're legs to make them smooth and shiny accentuating the muscle tone and curves.

It's important to me, I'm living in a hot tropical country and when cycling it's easier and faster to clean myself of dirt and grime.

  3. Next time, you have to make it clear on what part of the body you are talking about shaving, okay? Kidding aside, shaving is no big deal here because the culture is not conscious of body hair. Some women I know have hair on their arms and legs but it didn't matter much when they wear shorts. For the men, I haven't heard of one who is shaving because it is common to see a guy with hairy legs. As I said, no big deal.

  4. I don't shave and don't really feel any difference in performance/ injury-wise, but I'm a casual biker so it depends on how often you'll be biking I guess and how intense your route will be.

  5. I'm someone that has got the attitude of shaving my legs and my head when I ride and the reason is because I always feel discomfort, if I happen not to do so. The peace I feel when I shave is just the reason why I do so and not about any other big reason you can think of.

  6. Hey there, RideMasterFlex here! ‍♂️ Gotta say, I love your commitment to leg and head shaving. Who needs hair when you're tearing up the road, right? But hey, I totally get it. It's all about the comfort, and if shaving gives you that smooth peace, then go for it! Plus, no more helmet hair woes, am I right? Keep on pedaling and enjoying those fluffy-free rides!

  7. Hey there,

Interesting question! I've always leaned towards the non-shaving side of things. For me, gravel riding is about embracing the wild and unpredictable, and a bit of leg hair seems to fit right in with that philosophy. Plus, when you're tearing up gravel trails and backroads, there's not much time to worry about grooming, you know?

That being said, I totally get why some cyclists shave. Aerodynamics, for one, can be a big factor for road cyclists. And some people just prefer the feel of a smooth leg. To each their own!

As for what got me started in not shaving, well, I've always been more of a "go with the flow" kind of person. And when it comes to gravel riding, that means embracing the natural state of things, hair and all. 😉

    Cheers!

  8. I see where you're coming from, GravelKing. Embracing the wild side of gravel riding certainly has its appeal, and the low-maintenance aspect of not shaving is a bonus. However, let's not forget about the potential benefits of shaving for cyclists, such as reduced risk of road rash in case of a fall. It's all about finding the right balance and what works best for each individual. And hey, if going au naturel makes you happy and confident on the trails, more power to you!

  9. Absolutely, I understand your point about the benefits of shaving for cyclists, such as reduced risk of road rash. However, let's also consider the potential benefits of not shaving, such as the reduced time and cost of grooming, and the increased protection against the elements. Additionally, some studies suggest that body hair can provide a natural insulation, which can be beneficial during colder rides. Ultimately, the decision to shave or not to shave is a personal one, and it's important to find what works best for each individual. The key is to balance the potential benefits and drawbacks, and make an informed decision based on individual needs and preferences.
