  1. NY Times: "the testosterone in Landis's body came from an external
source and was not naturally produced by his own system, according to a
person at the International Cycling Union with knowledge of the
    results."

What a circus. Over here, in Ring No. 1, we have the Châtenay-Malabry
lab leaking results to L'Equipe. Over there, in Ring No. 2, we have the
UCI itself leaking information to the NY Times. In Ring 3 we're waiting
for a special appearance by the clowns that lost Tyler Hamilton's B
    sample.

UCI has just violated its own rules of due process (Anti-Doping Rules,
Chapter XII, "Confidentiality and Public Disclosure"😉. Well, that's
just great. That clucking noise you hear is Landis' lawyer salivating.

Yeah, and over here in Ring No. 3 we've got Froid leaking Test from his
ears, [censored] from his mouth and who knows what else from his ass. And
that sucking noise you hear is his overtaxed mitral valve regurgitating
after coming off the TdF cycle.

Froid created this circus you jagoff. Hate the player not the game.

    Dumbass,

We all want UCI to clean house. But if they can't protect a rider's due
process and a fair trial, they lose all credibility and respect and end
up looking as tainted as the riders. UCI has to be absolutely above
reproach if they want to clean up cycling.

Listen bro, they can't help it if some underpaid desk jockey tries to
make a few duckets on the side by leaking some information. That's the
real world. It's not like someone leaked a false rumor. Everything
leaked is true. It just came out early.

And if you'll recall Phonak announced the fact that Froid's sample came
back positive - not the UCI.

Due process can occur in the public domain. It may not be pretty but
that's life. [censored] like me should be able to jump in and prejudge -
And so you know I'm not a hypocrite I'll say here and now that I'll
toss Och's salad as penance if Froid comes back clean.

    Fair?

Who is going to clean up athletics?

It's strange, but I haven't heard one voice defending Justin Gatlin.

How do you know it's true? I'm not a Landis fan and I'm not defending
him, but until we get a formal announcement this is just speculation and
    rumour.

    USADA, not WADA, not UCI.

It's all about how it is handled. It's all about credibility in presentation. If

Now as to the particulars of the Gatlin case, I don't know [censored]. I do know that
the sanctioning and enforcing bodies have acted like grownups and have done
simple little things like adhered to the timetables provided in the rules.

Why would we be defending or attacking or anything with or about
Justin Gatlin? Or Barry Bonds? Either one, or any other non-cycling
possible doper planning to start racing bicycles this year or next?

Frankly, I'm waiting for the vultures to depart - who woulda known
that the July vultures would actually skew the message count more
toward doping rather than away - or that they would still be camped
    here in August?

I didn't mean in this newsgroup, I meant anywhere.
Gatlin must have just as many fans as Landis, yet they seem to have accepted
the news without the denial, outrage and bluster we see here.
Just because it was in France?

You are very wrong. There were three months between the time Gatlin
was tested and the release to the press. During that time both the A
and B samples where tested. There was sufficient time for a
managerial review ot the testing processes and compliance with test
protocols. Additional, Gatlin had been appraised of the matter and
had opportunity to respond informally. All this was accomplished
without prejudicial leaks which damage the athelte and maximize injury
    to the sport.

The "French" process (to use your frame of reference) on the other hand
has mazimized damage to the rider and to the sport. But it has sold a
lot of sold newspapers and furthered the interests of the dark side.

    The French process ????

What is "a french process" if not the confirmation of what Bob tell to you.
UCI, even with French name, is not French.
    AMA is not French.

before your eyes. There was a time when the French where master of

Exactly. And now I see Floyd Landis' attorney objecting to UCI's
    conduct, as well he should:

    ===

[AP] The attorney for cyclist Floyd Landis took issue with the
International Cycling Union for leaking the results of the Tour de
France winner's positive "A" sample drug test, saying it breached the
    organization's own rules.

Results of the second or "B" sample are set to be released on Saturday,
and until they are completed, "it should be strongly noted that there
is not even a formal doping charge that has been filed against Mr.
    Landis," attorney Howard Jacobs said.

Jacobs said he was "troubled by the actions of the UCI and how they
have spoken out about this case, which is in direct contravention of
the UCI's own rules and the World Anti-Doping Code.
