Well, Nichole Cooke won the race by attacking on the last run up
Fillmore, so, in this case, the climbs did end up deciding the event. The
group at the front got seriously whittled down just about every time they
rode up either of the two big hills.

I'm sorry, I'm not joking. The San Francisco Grand Prix moniker has been
abolished. Go to the race website and you'll see that all traces of "SFGP"
have been thoroughly scrubbed away. It's just the T-Mobile International.
Not the "San Francisco Grand Prix sponsored by T-Mobile International" or
the "San Francisco T-Mobile International"; there's no clue the race is
even in San Francisco. It's just T-Mobile International.

I live here (SF).
No one except for Freds or new-to-the-sport calls it "T-Mobile."

I just got copy of Philly on DVD but I haven't seen it yet. Lynn B. is one
the greatest riders out there today, and very classy lady as well.

She is having a great year too and I said she might be in the top three.
Speaking of climbing, it seems to me she didn't fare as well on the climbs
in the past but I was looking at her compared to Jeanson, and we know
Jeanson just simply rides away, end of story. I think she could be in the
top three but I don't see her winning it. I think Cooke could repeat, and
Lynn G is riding well so I went with some fresh picks. Twins are always a
wild card, great riders. Armstrong was riding well in the games and I wanted
to pick her. I need to start picking Americans since my favorite riders
always seem to be from Europe. Got to throw an American in there!

Pretty sharp hills, I don't know the percent, I didn't make it last year but
all of these girls should be in the thick of it;

I left Barry out, she had a great TT at the games. She could be in the top
three, heck any of these girls below could be in the top three. I added Sus
for support. RBR Sus in the top three. Let me revise. Cooke, Kristen
Armstrong, Suz Weldon. Or maybe replace Armstrong with Dede or Bessette.
Wait and see, I like it when so many girls could be in the top three. In
fact, hell who knows, some unknown rider way down on the totem pole could
win the dam thing. That's the way I like it, otherwise it would be too
boring with such predictable results.

first couple laps. That should be proof enough that it's not a
climber's course.
Anyone who finishes that race is a complete badass. The winner? A

It's in the context of the very Top elite women, and Jeanson won't be there
so I did say she could be top three.

When I mentioned a match race just as a side comment, I don't think Bessette
could match the likes of Jeanson, Luperini, Brandli, Joane S. on the really
big climbs. I never though she was great climber just from the races I saw,
considering Jeanson used to blow her doors off, but I didn't say she was a
bad climber either. I did say she might be in the top three, and that means
she is still a great rider in any race. I would like to see how Jeanson
would fair in the race. Don't read too much into it, I think she has had a
great year as stated previously and she could be up there. Wait and see.

Well, those short steep climbs add up lap after lap. Were you there last
year, have seen the course? I haven't but I have been on some of those
streets many times in the past. They are short power climbs for sure, we
will see, too bad I can't pick up the coverage on my west coast dish feed.

Hey Laura, I am just a big fan of women's races. You are much more close to
the heartbeat of the top U.S. women racers. You are more like a celebrity

That area is a fu**ing thief haven delight. Street smart junkies
ripping off the near-upper middle class.
I had lots of (analog) camera equipment stolen out of my car during
the Giro di SF in 2000. And I was parked on the same block as
registration, along the most traveled street! This year I was lucky
and only had my pride stolen from me on the last lap.

Well, there are buildings, not to mention the tens of thousands in
overhead blimps. And people come and go during the day. I estimate the
crowds to be in the millions.

To keep this relevant to cycling, most of them are on drugs.

Joane simply rides away with Brandli and Luperini. Then Joane rides away
from both Brandli and Luperini in one of four big climbs in the Grande
Boucle. Then Luperini takes the stage in a breakway in which Joane, Brandli
and Faby simply outclass the pack by blowing them away on the climb. Finally
Luperini wins the last big stage in which again Joane, Brandli and Faby ride
off the front of the pack, blow past a breakaway by Lung-Skag, and the three
elite girls are again all alone on the climb. I doubt seriously if Bessette
could hang with these girls, only Jeanson comes close. IMO
