Serfas Sunglasses

Don't know a thinkg about Serfas eyewear. What other sunglasses are you considering or willing to look at? Personally, I prefer my Rudy Projects. I own a Kalyos, Rydon, and my favorite....a set of carbon Syluros. Their frames are extremely light and their optics are of the highest quality. If you are like me, I'm always putting scratches and knicks on my lenses. With Rudy Project, their lenses come with a lifetime guarantee....just ship in your scratched lenses and pay a small fee (something like $15 - their retail lenses are more like $60 a pair), and they replace them, no questions asked. I also like the fact that Rudy Projects are still made in Italy. If you take a look at their site, Rudy Project sponsors teams like AMD, Rabobank, and JellyBelly. If saving pesos is important, then Tifosi glasses are a great value. In fact, they stack up pretty evenly with the big boys. I don't know anything about the quality of Serfas' stuff.

Actually, I have tried Tifosi and they do make some great glassses.

I just checked out the Rudy Project website, and I think they have amazing looking glasses. Are these really expensive? One of the reasons I chose the Serfas glasses was because they are 50 dollars and come with 4 different lenses. Saving pesos as you put it is important to me. I don't make enough pesos to squander them.

How do you measure eye size? All of the Rudy glasses have eye sizes...

Rudys will be expensive compared to either Serfas or Tifosi. Rudys are great, but I don't know that you'd see a difference between Rudys (or any big name brand, for that matter) and the Tifosis. Again, I've never heard anyone's experiences with the Serfas specs.

As far as price goes, you probably cannot compare Tifosi and Rudy Project. Tifosis are definitely the cheaper ones to buy. However, I would go a step further... I would argue that you should also consider the workmanship and quality of materials and the name brand. Just like a pair of jeans...are you willing to pay a few extra bucks for a pair of Levis versus an ABC brand? I would, and I would be willing to pay for the name and the quality associated with that brand. In my humble opinion, I would rather own a piece of workmanship from the Rudy Project factory in Italy than the cheap plastic from China, that is Tifosi.

That is still a ton more than I want to pay, the serfas glasses or decent tifosi glasses for 50 dollars are fine for me. Until you see me in The tour de france or giro de italia I will not be wearing glasses that cost more than 100 dollars.

Serfas are ok but they die pretty quickly. You get what you pay for and they gunk up a bit under the sleeves on the Arms. Mine average about 120 days per pair before they are non-mission capable or arms break. But, for the price, they cannot be beat.
