Sending bikes and trailers by mail

The cheapest way is take a picture and post that.

Seriously, there are problems with post or freight and the issue that
you need to ask firstly isn't price but size. How small you can pack
these items down, not necessarily to send as one package, is critical. I
think that you'll find Australia Post not an option. Canvas the local
freight companies for their packaging requirements, weight and size
restrictions as well as pricing.

Unless you know someone flying down to Melbourne with not much luggage.

got my BOB trailer from Dean Woods Direct, cost me $7 courier from
Melbourne to Sydney, Couriers please I think it was.

I think you will find that is pretty heavily subsidised by DWD and not available for walk-in customers. The bus freight couriers usually have pretty decent rates for mugs, ask google for details.

through DWD, the trailer weighs about 6kilos plus packaging, if you
already own them I would pack them up more or less the same way the
factory sends them, undo the trailer fork and reverse it into the
trailer and bolt it back in, remove the wheel and mudguard and pack them
inside the trailer, then box the entire lot lot up.
