We have gone full circle! Coke drinkers, rejoice!
OK - a loosely-constructed timeline. The format of Usenet demands
it be vertical, sorry...
Lotsa years ago - Diet Coke introduced, tastes absolutely nothing
like real coke. (yawn) OK, we still have Coke.
Lotsa years + 5? ago - Coke [censored] with the recipe/taste of Coke.
Serious Coke drinkers not happy.
Lotsa years + 6 years - "Classic Coke" introduced, it also tastes
nothing like real (classic) Coke.
Atlanta, we have a problem.
~ 5 years ago - Pepsi introduces a diet cola that tastes ~exactly~
like real Coke. They can't really tell you that
in their ads, of course. Those "in the know"
spread the word. Oh yeah, it's called "Pepsi One"
2005 - The Coca-Cola Bottling Company introduces "Coke Zero",
which is an Aspartame sweetened product (thus a "real"
reason for the "zero" name [calories]) and, well, spank my
ass and call me 'Charlie' - Coke Zero tastes like REAL
(CLASSIC) COKE!!!
The ignorant "I-don't-drink-diet-pop" crowd will avoid it
(like the hardhead imbeciles they are) but finally open-
minded Coke pursit have a product on the market under the
Coke name that is really ~Coke~. Coke ~lives~ ~AGAIN~!
And then, there was ~choice~. Pepsi One, or Coke Zero. Same
great taste, just pick your manufacturer. God bless America.
