Unless it's absolutely ludicrous, my impression is that it will be
awarded to a French rider. My vote for most combative today is
Jan Ullrich.

Armstrong should have got "most combative" yesterday for
yelling at poor ol' Floyd.

The most combative classification generally goes to riders
who show themselves in brave but doomed (or pointless)
breakaway efforts. This is one reason it is dominated by
French riders. Moncoutie is an exception - he's been astute
enough (and good enough) to actually win stages when he gets
in a long break.

I remember sometime around 1998 or '99 when several of us, me included,
were wondering about Seb Hinault's geneolgy. It was decided back that
that they are not related. It's still fun to goof on this stuff.

It's still fun to see the Mad Hinault Racing B&W image posted every now
and then as is Lemond's scream.
