seat cover for rain?

I have a leather saddle on my commute bike,
and nowhere (under cover) at work to store it :-(

of a carrier bag, tied under the seat by its
handles.

This works OK, but the carrier bags only
last around 2-3 weeks, before the handles fall
off.

In any case, it's never very secure, and the bag

Does any have a recommendation for

Problem is that anything drawstrinny is likely to be fabric that may not be
waterproof or if it is costs too buch.

Why not get an old rain coat (cogoul) and knock something up.

You could also gets a re-usable cable tie and continue to use the carrier.

I was just about to recommend the same Brooks one. I have one, and it is
quite nice, and does the job very well.

I'm not entirely sure whether the velcro loop it so keep the cover on when
in use (it also has an elastic drawstring that does this perfectly well), or
for attaching it somewhere while not in use.

I have a supply of the freebie shower caps from various hotels stayed in
over the years. Work great as saddle cover. And as a multitude of uses too.

I have a quick release pin on the tube end where the seat post goes and
just take the post and Brooks saddle with me - to the pool changing
room, shops, work, etc. I learned my lesson after having my first Brooks
stolen from the bike which I'd parked in Poland Street car park, in
Soho.

If I have to leave the bike outside and it's raining, I have an old
folded up plastic bag which I fasten over the tube end with an elastic
band.

The Brooks saddle cover mentioned elsewhere in this thread is rather a
giveaway, and eminently nickable, even if you don't have a Brooks saddle
under it.
