  1. Hi there,
Need some help from you guys. I snapped my Sigma o-ring that is used to mount the computer, and need to find a replacement. I am also thinking of using these o-rings to mount a flashlight on my helmet.

I have asked at Bunnings and they pointed me to a little o-ring set for taps.

Do any of you have any links as to where to get replacement rubber o-rings? Are there other solutions?

    thanks

  2. Try a specialist plumbing shop or a bearing shop.

  3. +1
Yep, any bearing shop will definitely have them.

  4. what size?

auto shops have packs of O-rings 5mm to 25mm ID

    50mm ID.

Can anyone think of an alternative solution?

  6. Bearing shop - try Fyshwyck

  7. Try you local hardware shop, had the same problem with some O-rings I needed. Had no joy at Bunnings but local hardware shop had boxes of assorted sizes, sold individually 25c each(100mm).

What sort of alternative are you after?
Bearing shops will have them up to something like 300mm.
    A 50mm o-ring might cost you all of 20c.
Trust me, I use these places quite often.

  9. What about zip-ties/cable ties

    DSE/Tandy/Jaycar/Radioshack will have these

  13. You could also try the distributors. The other suggestions seem the better option though.

Back in the old days, all service stations had GJ assortments of O rings in little red boxes. You will be able to buy O rings at any Bearing outlet, (watch min invoice value), any auto parts wholesaler, any auto workshop. If you were in WA I would send you to Coventrys, maybe Bennett & Wood in NSW. 😉
