Let's just assume they're all guilty, then we can swap the prize from
who gets over the line first, to who gets away without being caught
the longest.

I was a race mechanic a couple of times, and the riders who retired to
their rooms early "for their Vitamin B injections nudge-nudge, wink-
wink" were not to be disturbed at any cost. One soigneur was physically
threatened when he got his team's room wrong and the other team had
forgotten to lock the door. He backed out hurriedly when he realised,
but couldn't help noticing little eskys full of ice, and bottles of what
didn't look like Vitamin suppliments, and way too much injecting gear
for simple old vitamins. And this was just at pissant little races in
the country. Go figure.

This is such a non-event. How will they pin anything on him? The
evidence was destroyed, there's appears to be no proof that he received
the notification from Customs, he will just plead ignorance to any
knowledge of the whole thing, and there's not a lot that can be done.

IMO, this is just a beat up to appease the IOC or whoever is on the
phone saying that they want someone's head on a plate.

I have no idea who or what to believe. If someone like Eadie is a drug
cheat then it really is a huge kick in the nuts for our sport.

I want the cheats caught as much as the next person but it must be
proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the person is a cheat.

Can we say 100% that Eadie ordered the banned substances? What's to stop
someone else, who may have a grievance of some kind, ordering something
that is banned and then having it sent to that persons home etc? Yes,
the chances of something like that hapening are small....but it could be
done. The innocent party would, more than likely, be marked for life as
a cheat even if there was little other proof. Doesn't really matter now
that the seed of doubt has been been planted.

It seems abit far fetched I know but there will always be people who
want vengeance etc. Just look at the Ice skater who had someone attack a
rival so she wouldn't beat her in the Olympic selection trials. Makes
you think doesn't it.

I hope that Eadie is innocent but if he is a cheat then I hope he gets
whats coming to him. Regardless of the outcome it's done nothing but
tarnish the sport of cycling further.

I really liked Eadie too.. he was quite a character. He's
clean in my mind until proven otherwise, but with cycling

I sure hope this doesn't turn into a witch hunt. Because I get the
impression that some one will have to be the sacrificial lamb to the
slaughter whether they are guilty or not.

I'm with you Hippy. Sean Eadie is innocent until he is proven guilty.
It's unfortunate that there'll no doubt be a percentage of people who'll
think the opposite and that he's guilty until proven innocent.

In the end it won't really matter...as this was probably Eadie's last
throw of the olympic dice.

If u go by the way the media presents it
They are guilty until they prove themselves innocent....judge & jury....
Guilty especially 60 Minutes....
On one program they showed a arm being injected with a tie above the elbow
as a heroin user would ....very distorted
and if they dont comment or show then the media highlights that as if they
have something to hide......

Feel sorry for Eadie who I beleive is a kindy teacher ...could possibly
loose his career out of this
