sold to, and they booked a private plane and the tech people
had it up and running in chicago after the long weekend.
Good job by my company's people. At any rate, it's not
unusual to have data escorted.

Sure. When the hands-on technical expertise is needed on the
other end. Many things are easier to do in person that
remotely. But to have Jill deliver it is just for safety's
sake is just plain stupid - Especially if she wants to make
a stop in the other direction. Transfering the data over a
VPN connection is preferable than having a [dumb blonde]
courier deliver it.
