Saw an add for that thing in the NYT this morning. It
does look cool, but that head tube angle is pretty slack.
I can't imagine the thing handles very well at all.
Appears to me as a "form over function" piece of
machinery. I'll be interested to see if there are any
real reviews on the thing.

I don't.

I imagined a TRUE Stingray -- banana seat and hi-rise bars,
but SIMPLE -- not a weird, "pretend" chopper toy.

I had a shiny 10-speed bike (or maybe a 3-speed -- fancy,
anyway) and a salvaged stingray POS. Guess which one was
more fun to ride?

I've sat on one of these, their pretty cool. The rear wheel
is sick! The hub is about 8" wide and the rim is probably
about 4" with a low profile tire. The rear end looks just
like a motorcycle.

I live about half a mile from the Pacific (schwinn,
mongoose, gt) hq and ride with a number of their employees.
The original stingray was inspired by choppers of the day,
and they used the same idea on this one. Honestly, when my
buddy said they were making a modern version of the
stingray, I thought "uh oh" (I'm a big sting ray fan), but I
was pleasntly suprised with it.

They've got some other cool stuff coming out. They have a
sweet bmx/mountain bike hybrid prototype they've been
testing lately.

while we were trying to get away from the Campion gang....

I've actually ridden one of these as has my 9 year old son-
yesterday at the Boston Bike Show. There's an adult version
coming out as well evidently. If I hadn't just bought a new
bike for my son I'd think about getting one (and riding it
occasionally myself). I have to say I think they are VERY
cool. The BMX "thing" is old and these are breath of fresh
air- well built by kid bike standards and easy ride. I think
should have considered a coast brake or internal-shifting
hub option on it but that looks are great and innovative.

Don't get me wrong- this bike isn't suitable for anything
but cruising a relatively flat neighborhood or bike path.
That said, anything, anything at all that gets kids out of
the house and prrferably out riding bikes I'm for and this
is a nice piece of machinery and I think a great design that
will entice at least few kids to ride.
