  1. What's your favorite scenic (not necessarily fast, flat,
etc.) half marathon where scenic is defined as you wish you
had brought a camera with you when you ran the race???

For me they would be US half marathon in SF, La Jolla half
marathon, and Palos Verdes half marathon (with the first one
being the most scenic). I haven't run America's Finest City
yet but I hear it's nice too. And I'll bet the new Malibu
marathon/half marathon will be great too.

I'm especially interested in races outside of California.

    Steve S.

  2. Connemara (well it is outside California :-) ) has to be right up there. It's far from being a PB
    course.

There's a half, full and ultra.

Though its in Calif., an extremely scenic Half is the Big
Sur Half which is actually held on the Monterey Peninsula in
Nov. It starts in Monterey and most of the course is beside
the Bay or the Pacific. Its first running was last fall and
many brought cameras or stated that they wished that they
had. It is also a very fast course. Bill.

  5. Thanks Bill!

I've never done it, but the Casino Niagara Half Marathon is
considered on of the more scenic races around. It also is
totally flat for 11 miles or so then the last 2 miles is a
50 foot drop in elevation for a nice finish.

  7. Thanks for the info David. But I checked the website and it
gives October 27, 2002 as the next race date. Do you know if
    the race is now defunct??

If you're into trails and travelling, you might consider
    this yukonmarathon.comyukonmarathon.com

I haven't run this but I hiked part of the start and end of
the course (before I knew there was a race there) when on a
business trip in Whitehorse a few years ago. Robert Service
    country at its finest!
