The guy mentions two serious cuts in his 18 years of
running barefoot. One was from glass, the other from rock.
Your soles become leatherly after months of being barefoot.
Humans ran barefoot for millions of years before shoe
protection.
I still dont recommend it.
Yes, never turning back. In days of old, at least people can choose not
to run except when chasing or chased during hunting. Fravediggers's
hands had no alternative before invention of gloves.
I also met a few European mountain climbers hiking to Half-Dome, in
Yosemite National Park, bare footed and a load of ropes and wares on
their backs. I was young then and my feet still preferred to land horse
dung patches in my New Balance shoes.
For fast runners, why waste the kinetic, friction and reactive forces
through the socks and shoes?
