Thanks for posting the website, and sorry I couldn't respond sooner.
What I'd like to find is a lame & tame "dedicated" trail for
bikers/hikers. I do not like to ride roads that are used heavily by
motorized traffic.

I don't have an answer for you. (Though I don't remember seeing any form of MUT
in Savannah.) I would just like to ask that you post whatever you find out here
in this newsgroup. I'd be interested in hearing what you find. If there is a MUT
it would make semi-regular road trips down there worth it.

I assume MUT = multiple use trail? I contacted the Savannah visitors'
bureau, but didn't have much luck.

Is the Chief Ladiga Trail out of Piedmont, AL worth the ride? Spouse
and I tried to ride it last year over Thanksgiving, but the weather
didn't cooperate. Hopefully, we'll get another chance to try that trail
later this year.

Oops, yes. That was Multi-Use Trail (aka MUP = Multi-Use Path).

Sorry, but I can't advise on the Chief Ladiga Trail. I have been reading on it,
but have never ridden it myself. I have only lived here for almost a year (moved
from California).

All my rides are on the Silver Comet Trail (a MUT). That trail is a very good
ride, well worth your time. End to end I believe it is 39 miles--at least the
contiguous part. The trail ends (very abruptly) at Rockmart, and then picks up
again 8 miles west of that in Cedartown. The Cedartown portion connects to the
Chief Ladiga trail.

I might have more personal information on the parts of the trail west of
Rockmart after September 5. On that day I will be riding the 50-miler of the
Silver Comet Trail event. The 50- and 100-mile rides both head west from
Rockmart. New territory for me.

If you are ever in the area to ride the Silver Comet Trail, a good time is in
the Fall when the trees are turning. Absolutely beautiful! Miles and miles of
blazing yellows, reds, and oranges.

I've heard about the Silver Comet Trail, and I bet the scenery is
fantastic in Fall! I understand it and the Chief Ladiga Trail are
supposed to connect to each other at some point in time. But, I bet
this isn't the case, yet, due to lack of funding?

I prefer to ride "lame & tame" trails. No MTB riding for me - I know my
limitations (usually!). Converted rails-to-trails are the best 🙂
