Great story on him a couple of months back in Cycle Sport America. It is sad, and while appreciating his dedication the potential for injury is pretty significant. I hope this opens up a great avenue in life for him....

Well I am sure that, with the character he has shown, an opportunity in the cycling world will open up for him. I feel that he will find his place, and deservedly so.

Big thumbs up to Credit Agricole who are going to honor Saul's 2008 contract even though he won't be racing.
This from RBR website:
"He has a contract without any problem. He is paid like a normal rider, even though he is not racing. The problem is not the money, but the risk." - Roger Legeay, Credit Agricole manager, saying Saul Raisin's 2008 contract with the French team will be honored despite his disability.

They probably have an insurance policy for such situations. It is not necessarily from the goodness of their hearts. -

I totally agree.. and even if they are shelling out for his pay themselves, the PR value alone is worth it.... but the best thing is Saul has a regular income for the next 12 months.Come to think of it... it's more than likely the insurance company would not cover him is he races and the team can't risk it...
