Landis had a great ride but Riis and other contenders' team managers made a huge mistake in not going sooner once Floyd's lead got to nine minutes. As a team owner, I would be furious with Riis and the like. How one lets a contender go away umarked is just plain stupid. Not a Lance fan, but there is no way, he would have let Ulrich or anyone else ride off and not respond once the advantage got to more than five minutes. In the end, that may be biggest reason Sastre and Pereiro lose their chance for first. They obviously felt that he would crack before the summit and weren't concerned. It wasn't until it was too late that Sastre took off and got back four minutes on Landis by himself on the last climb. This information was lost on Landis' heroics. Still sastre's poor descent cost him 30 secs, riding like a girl, but with today's time trial loaded with some decent climbs, and the fact that he lost to Landis in the previous TT by only a minute ten, don't be surprised by a Sastre win.
