simply because they're new?
They may bed in a bit with time. Even good disk brakes can rub a bit. But
persistent rubbing, especially if it's actually slowing the wheel, is a
real nuisance. The probable cause is that the calipers are not perfectly
aligned with the rotors. If this is the case, the first thing to try is to
slightly loosen off all the bolts which hold the caliper to the fork/frame
(do NOT remove them!) Then, get someone else to hold the brake lever
firmly so the caliper grips the rotor so that you can't turn the wheel at
all, and while they are still holding tighten up all the bolts. This often
works.
If it doesn't work then it's possible that the places on the fork and frame
where the calipers mount may need to be faced, which needs special
equipment and you'll have to get a good bike shop to do.

It's a reasonable beginners hardtail, should be strong enough to do a bit
of jumping and not too heavy for a bit of cross country. If you start
doing much cross country, though, you'll want to replace those tyres -
they'll be quite heavy and hard work. Keep your chain clean, and replace
it in good time - otherwise your transmission may wear quickly.
