  1. I was on my way back from the north to Toronto and decided to look for the
    place all the freeriders call
Santa's village, and is said to have one of the better man made tricks. I
found it' but signs on the gates said it was closed because of insurance
issues this year, and riding there will be considered as trespassing. Does
anybody know what the story is all about? does anybody still ride there even
    with the warning?

It's because of all the dead bodies buried there, including Mulder's sister.

  5. I was there yesterday, they said it's closed and will stay this way this
year. What I was wondering is if the sighs there are just for the insurance
company(and I had my share of problems with them this summer trying to open
a roller balding and bike rental place in Toronto-they just killed us), or
do the owners really care about us riding there.
p.s. Doesn't "poach" mean hunting on a land that's not yours......? I just
want to ride in a place I was told is the best freeriding park in
    Ontario.....

"Poaching" in the mountainbiking sense means to ride on property that is
considered "private" and illegal if there are signs posted that tell you
that it is considered trespassing. They have the right to contact the proper
authorities and press charges on you if you disobey their signs on their
private property. You also cannot sue them (I think), if you go into their
property and you ride in there and hurt yourself.

  7. Kinda self-explanatory, isn't it? Riding it in spite of the signs sounds
like a great way to encourage them to re-open.

not really, and I can say from my expiriance, that i'm sure it has nothing
to do with the owners and everything to do with the insurance compenies. And
with these guys, you can be as nice and law obiding as you want, if it's a
risk this year, they will not insure it. So I was asking about people who
ride there often, because the owner might have been made to put up the signs
by the insurance company' but in fact don't really care if we ride there or
    not.
