SA Dynohubs and matching light sets

i too have an old dynohub, but its in very good nick. theres a thread
going on at the moment called dynohub+LED where im trying to solve the
same problem...

Do you know about the cautions about disassembly? You _must_
disassemble it properly, including using a magnet keeper, or you'll
instantaneously ruin the magnet and thus the hub.

Regarding matching lights (and for that matter, the entire project):
What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Are you restoring an antique
bike, and wanting historic accuracy, or are you looking for practical
lighting for a modern bike?

If the latter, you may not want the old SA product. Its power output
was less than modern generators, maybe equivalent to the little 2 C cell
handlebar mounted bike lights. If that's good enough for you (i.e.
riding only in lit city conditions) then fine. But modern hub
generators (maybe Shimano, maybe Sanyo, maybe Schmidt) would give much
more light. So would most other modern generators (non-hub style.)

If you still wanted to use the SA but didn't want a historically
accurate headlight, you could fit a modern generator headlight with a
bulb from http://www.reflectalite.com/lightmodel.html#anchor1
although I personally haven't tried this (yet)

If you are wanting to restore an old bike for show purposes, etc. and
want to buy a NOS SA dynohub and headlamp, e-mail me - with address
changes, as instructed below. I can discuss a possible source or two.
