Running track in East Bay?

You could try using one of the online mapping sites -
google/yahoo/ask/live. I was able to find a few in and around the
Oakland area:

- Intersection of Webster & Atlantic in Alameda
- 10th st & 5th ave in Oakland
- Chestnut & 28th
- Coolidge & Carmel

If you figure out who they belong to, you could give them a call.
Otherwise, you can always just drive up there and go for a run and see
if it's open to the public.

The other alternative is to go to a local running store and ask. They
might be able to help. Try http://www.transportsrunswim.com/ for a start.

perimeter route around Lake Merritt is exactly 5 kilometers.

I think that was sarcasm. Seriously, with what appears to be so *many*
people suffering from emotional difficulties like this, how do we even
function as a country? I run plenty in the redwood forests that
surround my home, at Lake Merritt, etc. I want a running track so I
can do intervals. Is that OK, or does it still make you want to be an
ass? And if so, have you asked yourself why?

Thanks to the normal adults for your help. The map search was a great
idea, as is asking at running stores.

To the rest of you who think being nasty and juvenile online will
somehow help you solve your problems, I'm afraid you're going about it
all wrong.
