I remember whizzing along the seafront many years ago when I must've lost it for a moment. I hit the kerb, then went over the handlebars with my bike landing on top of me. As I looked up there was this fine looking girl with her mum, sitting in deckchairs. The mum asked if I was ok and I said "yes, I'm always doing that". I then quickly got up, got back on my bike and rode off thinking "that bloomin' hurt!"
I should at least have hung around for the sympathy vote and anything else on offer. Mum or daughter:p :p :p 😉 😄
Last month I had a bee get sucked into one of the air vents in my helmet. It must have looked pretty comical as I swerved off to the side of the bike path and tore my helmet off.
A few years ago, I was wearing gym shorts on a bike ride. I managed to get a bee stuck into the left leg of my shorts, and the bee informed of its unhappiness by giving me a sting. Good thing I was alone on that trail because I stopped kinda brutally.
I was stupid enough to ride without sunglasses once and got a bug in my eye, which I swear to God was trying to burrow into my brain. That was the most intense pain in my eye/face I have ever felt.
This happened to me the other day, on a descent, a bug hit me right in the inside corner of my eye. So painful. I try to pull it out once and get legs and wings, and then on the second try i pull out this huge bug body. then i glance at the speedo (42 mph). Completely blinded for like 5 seconds going 40+.
My friend was hit by a police car with its sirens on. got away with only a pringles shaped back wheel and some bruises.
What a funny title. I figured somebody was accident prone. Bugs, well yes it happens. It must have freaked you out. Just remember they are your friend. Lol
It depends on the weather where you're at and also the time of day. I don't usually run into a lot of bugs except near when the sun is going down.
This has been my experience with those flying stag beetles that I only managed to come across on a small road a little ways from my old house. One landed on my shoulder and I became a little frantic in getting the bugger off of me. Those are the only real bugs of note that I've rode into. Pesky things.
The only thing that I could possibly run into is the odd car passenger that opens their door just before I slam the brakes. Car passengers simply don't care if there are other oncoming cars, motorbikes or cyclists before they attempt to open the door. They make no effort to look behind to see if someone's coming. This is very dangerous and puts everyone at risk.
Bugs are the worst, but once I ran into a tree. The sand was too mushy under my wheels and I started to break but nothing, simply fallen over while the tree was in my way.

Probably why I'm always a little hesitant and prepare to veer out when passing by parked cars while I'm riding and also when I'm driving my car. I understand people might be in a hurry and all that but check the damn mirrors before opening the door for hells sake.
