  1. Does anyone have any experience with Yoga and Running. I'm trying to alternate
running with swimming, but several non-runners have also suggested I try yoga.

I've done ashtanga yoga, but I'm considering Bikram.

Any recommendations on studios in NYC?

    Thanks,
    Christopher

oh i think yoga is the best! i just do my own stuff, not much class work,
since i used to do ballet classes. but if you're into the "hot stuff," i know
    a studio or two.

So far, it looks like my best bet is to try the studio on 8th and 48th - they
have two classes each week that are strictly for first-timers.

    Christopher.

i think there's a place on 13th St and University, next to a bowling alley,
that does the high-heat version. i've never gone there.

also, for runners, there are classes with the Road Runners club. check out
their web site for details on when/where.

just be careful of the "heat." as i like to say, flying too close to the flame
can burn. 🙂 one must learn to balance, and allow a trusted yoga partner to
keep you safe. sometimes we just have to reach out a hand for balance and
    trust the other will grasp.

To my knowledge the NY? Runners Club uses Yoga. Power Yoga by Birch, a book,
is connected with the group. I use the Birch book. It is the best book I have
    ever read on flexibility, also.

I tried Bikram yoga last summer. Very intense. At one point, I felt that a
small oxygen tank would have been extremely useful. Its hot, the humidity
level goes way up, this makes simple breathing difficult at some points.
